Bryana Knight holds degrees in Spanish & Psychology from Universitat de les Illes Balears and College of the Holy Cross respectively. After college, she worked at LivingSocial as a Market Analyst, and subsequently as a Market Programmer. She then joined the ranks at WellMatch as a Software Developer, where she held the distinction of being the first female engineer to work for the company.
Bryana is currently employed as a Platform Engineer at GitHub.
At present, Washington DC native, Bryana resides in Boston, MA where she maintains both an active mind and body. Her passion for all things code, leaks into her off-work hours as evidenced by her position as Tech Lead for Women Who Code Boston. She spends her downtime reading fiction, watching football, and enthusiastically engaging in yoga, soccer and body pump.

This Spring, Bryana Knight will discuss Fifty Shades of Database Performance Optimization during her session for Syntax Code & Craft Conference – Coastal South Carolina’s premier programmer’s code gathering. SyntaxCon brings together developers, both established and new, to learn, discuss ideas, collaborate, network and socialize in an inclusive and welcoming experience for all.

- Platforms (content management systems, cloud-hosted services, mobile applications and infrastructure.
