Andrew Mitry currently holds the position of senior distinguished engineer at Walmart, where he leads strategy and architecture for a team that builds and operates one of the largest private clouds run on OpenStack and Ceph as well as leveraging public cloud. He responsibly coordinates Walmart’s development, engineering and operations teams, with the OpenStack community to offer best-in-class cloud services.
His arsenal is stacked with degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Business Administration, and Management Information Systems from Georgia Institute of Technology, Northern Virginia Community College and Columbia Union College respectively. Over the years he’s added and honed industry skills as he filled the roles of Independent Consultant (InnoCloud), IT Infrastructure Manager at CSC and lead infrastructure, architecture and strategy roles at Comcast before hiring on at Walmart. Today, Andrew is a respected and talented software engineer endowed with excellent communication skills, and an approachable demeanor.
Away from work, Andrew is a devoted husband, father, cyclist and woodworker. For the last few years, he’s served his local community by volunteering as a member of the Advisory Board for Concord Retreat.
