K. Brian Kelley – Speaker Spotlight

Brian Kelley graduated from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with degrees in Physics and Mathematics; and went on to serve four years as an active-duty officer in the United States Air Force. He currently serves as an Infrastructure and Security Architect at a bank where he works on Active Directory, Windows security, VMware, and Citrix in addition to Microsoft SQL Server. Over the course of his career, K. Brian has achieved Security +, CompTIA and ISACA certifications. He is also an accomplished Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

In the technical community, K. Brian is seen as a trustworthy and reliable individual, who consistently exhibits professionalism, and is a pleasure to work with.  He is a highly regarded technical architect, ‘… with detailed inner workings knowledge of a multitude of RDBM systems, cross-platform OS integration, and level of software development expertise that most developers only hope to achieve’. He is a contributing author for several SQL Server based books, and posts columns on security at SQLServerCentral.com and MSSQLTips.com.

Outside of work, K. Brian Kelley doesn’t allow grass to grow beneath his feet. His diverse interests include chess, soccer, reading, theology, and anime. In addition to spending time with his wife and three children, he has served as a Children’s/Youth Pastor and Awana Leader. In the past, he has functioned as the driving force behind Warp Drive Design Ministries and currently does so for Truth Solutions.

Other Information

This Spring, K. Brian Kelley will present ‘Make SQL Server Go Faster’ during his session for Syntax Code & Craft Conference – Coastal South Carolina’s premier programmer’s code gathering.  SyntaxCon brings together developers, both established and new, to learn, discuss ideas, collaborate, network and socialize in an inclusive and welcoming experience for all.

This year’s schedule provides content across 3 main tracks, each with a specific focus:

  • Front-End Development
  • Back-End Development
  • Platforms (content management systems, cloud-hosted services, mobile applications and infrastructure.

Attendees can customize their personal agenda by choosing sessions with an aim to improve their craft, fulfill goals, and learn cutting edge trends and best practices in a relatively short time.
