With an educational background in Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Nonprofit Management, one would expect to find Calvin Webster working at a biotechnology company, or leading the charge for a nonprofit agency. The thing is, he walked that route, and along the way found himself repeatedly drawn to code, and moved to embrace a growing love for teaching.
As a developer, Calvin specializes in Agile, UI/UX, and Frontend development. He has worked with companies such as The Charleston Museum, Veterans Administration, and Cummins Marine. Calvin is well known in the tech community; he helped establish BarcampCHS, has contributed to the Modernizr Project, Adobe Brackets, and is currently involved with Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI).
Hawaii-born Calvin Webster, considers himself ‘ … an ordinary guy, who is extraordinarily curious about our world.’ He is a dedicated husband and father, who loves the beach, nature and people, and derives pleasure from dabbling in hardware and bio-hacking.
This Spring, Calvin will join us to explore what happens When 2 Worlds Collide, Building Desktop Apps with Electron during his session for Syntax Code & Craft Convention.
SyntaxCon brings together over thirty-five talented developers from around the country who will share road-tested insights.
