Speaker Spotlight – Cory Gackenheimer

Cory Gackenheimer is a software engineer from Indiana, who currently works as Mobile Technical Lead for Healthx, a major mobile healthcare platform.

Gackenheimer spent his college years at Purdue University, where he worked with image analysis software for nanoscale environments. Over the years, he has been exposed to, and has gained proficiency in such technologies as C#, C++, Visual Basic, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, and JavaScript. When he first encountered Node.js he realized the potential that utilizing the ubiquitous language of the web on the server was both efficient and revolutionary. As a result, he has dedicated himself to learning and building with Node.js.

Cory’s desire to promote efficiency in both process and procedure, compelled him to author the books – Node.js Recipes and Introduction to React.  He is a member of the jQuery Mobile team, teaches immersive courses on JavaScript, and contributes regularly to the jQuery Mobile project.

Cory enjoys spending time with his family, running, cycling, and playing the occasional soccer game.
