Brooklyn, New York based Joel Califa is a Full Stack Designer specializing in User Experience, Visual Design and Front-end Development. He has been designing and building websites for over a decade, fueled by the desire to make people happy with delightful and intuitive design.
Joel attended the Parsons School of Design and graduated with a BFA in Design and Technology. While at Parsons, he founded Design & Code. Via Design & Code, and more recently General Assembly, Joel has taught code to up and coming designers and developers, thereby empowering them to turn their ideas into reality.
At present, Joel is Product Design Lead at DigitalOcean, where he leads a team of designers and focus on design strategy. Previously, he’s held design positions at Amicus, a YC startup that helps nonprofits turn their supporters into fundraisers and advocates, and Netcraft, Israel’s leading interactive agency.
