Speaker Spotlight – Kirsten Hunter

Kirsten Hunter is a well-regarded engineer who holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Kirsten currently functions as an API Evangelist at Akamai Technologies, where she is responsible for evangelizing their API to internal and external developers, teaching best practices and the annual Akamai EDGE Conference. She is a powerful generalist with extensive experience in development, planning, customer support and interaction. She loves helping developers achieve success with APIs or with their tools.

Kirsten, is obviously comfortable with who she is, and more so the ‘skin she’s in’. She lives life to the fullest, and seems to excel at whatever she puts her hand to. She is described as an unapologetic hacker, is a blogger, published authorsought after speaker and passionate advocate for the development community. In her copious free time she’s a gamer, fantasy reader, and all around rabble-rouser. Code samples, recipes, and philosophical musings can be found on her website.

Other Information

This Spring, Kirsten will join us to discuss Irresistible APIS during her session for Syntax Code & Craft Convention.

  • Front-End Development
  • Back-End Development
  • Mobile Development
  • Platforms (cloud-hosted services, gaming, content management systems, etc.)

Attendees can customize their personal agenda by choosing sessions with an aim to improve their craft, fulfill goals, and learn cutting edge trends and best practices in a relatively short time.
