Speaker Spotlight – Stephen Young

Stephen Young makes his home in Hollywood, Florida, where he is a Lead Software Engineer for Zumba Fitness. Although Stephen has a wide variety of ‘tools in his belt’, he specializes in PHP and JavaScript, and readily admits to being a Node.js nut.

Young brings to the table, years of experience building web based professional applications and games. He is a creative programmer who has been involved in Development and Programming for CRM Software, Sales Platform, and Lead Generation websites. He’s also been elbow deep in the development and programming for Mixed Reality Social Sports Games.  Stephen embraces the myriad challenges encountered at various stages of the development process, and unerringly turns to open source to find solutions.

Over the years, Stephen has functioned successfully in the roles of manager and mentor; written several open source libraries, such as Bottle.js and Swivel, and aspires to drive web based gaming into the future.
