Speaker Spotlight – Tom Wilson

Tom Wilson, President and Chief Architect at Jack Russell Software (a division of Tabula Rasa Healthcare) is passionate about Software Development and improving Healthcare Technology. He holds degrees in Management Information Systems, and Software Engineering; and has extensive hands-on experience building and leading teams in the development of large-scale and complex healthcare web applications.

Tom is an active member within the Charleston software development community. He believes that learning to code is a valuable skill to have, whether you plan to use it professionally or to gain an understanding of the technical world. To that end, Tom is a member of the Charleston Digital Corridor, and runs the Charleston CoderDojo to teach code to children.  In addition, he leads the Charleston Uber Users Group, is an instructor, and the Lead Advisor at Charleston CodeCamp.  He has given many talks and workshops in and around Charleston and has a presence on the national speaker circuit.

Besides serving the Charleston tech community, Tom enjoys time with his family, boating, playing golf and travel.

This Spring, Tom will join us to explore Functional Reactive Programming with Rx.JS/CycleJS during his session for Syntax Code & Craft Convention.

SyntaxCon brings together over thirty-five talented developers from around the country who will share road-tested insights.

This year’s schedule provides content across 4 main tracks, each with a specific focus:

  • Front-End Development
  • Back-End Development
  • Mobile Development
  • Platforms (cloud-hosted services, gaming, content management systems, etc.)

Attendees can customize their personal agenda by choosing sessions with an aim to improve their craft, fulfill goals, and learn cutting edge trends and best practices in a relatively short time.
